Annual Appeal Allocations
Bishop Rojas has chosen several ministries which the DDF Annual Appeal will fund this year. Bishops’ vision is to utilize these ministries to spread the good news and bring hope to the flock of the Diocese of San Bernardino. Your financial support of the DDF Annual Appeal will make a positive impact to these ministries. You will be helping Bishop Rojas to fulfill his vision and to reach his flock of the Diocese of San Bernardino.
It is important to be active and involved with the community around us to help build other disciples. I hope to see many more youth and young adults fill our churches and choose holiness.
"My name is Jocelyn Diaz. I am so grateful that I am a part of a church and Diocese filled with many opportunities to grow and share my faith with my community. Through Young Adult Ministries, I have participated in annual confirmation and core retreats as well as Adoration, theology nights, and other community events. I was also blessed to serve as a missionary with NET Ministries and attend World Youth Day in Portugal last summer. It is important to be active and involved with the community around us to help build other disciples. I hope to see many more youth and young adults fill our churches and choose holiness. It’s important for them to learn that Saints are just normal people who keep trying and fill their lives with the sacraments. Sainthood is possible for everyone! "My name is Ruben Emiliano Chavarria. I heard the call to the priesthood through prayer in front of the Blessed Sacrament, where God invited me to come and serve him and take the leap of faith. Through time, through discerning with prayer and serving at my church, I found my calling and purpose in life is to serve God. As a seminarian, I have been helping in youth and young adult ministries, giving talks to confirmation classes, serving at Mass as an altar server in my parish, and helping out as a lector. What I’m most looking forward to as a priest is serving God and his people. To take the role of the Good Shepherd like Jesus in (John 10:11), “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” Thanks to your support, faith, and love, my fellow seminarians and I are motivated every single day to follow God’s call."
